Our COVID-19 Response

Key Construction’s primary focus is to maintain a safe workspace for our entire team. We have successfully implemented a system to adhere to all local, state, and national guidelines while continuing to maintain social distancing on all construction sites. Safety has always been at the forefront of our concern, and we are continuing to respond to ever-changing guidelines and manage our procedures accordingly.

Please note that we are currently following the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ “Safety Standards for Construction”, which is a requirement on all of our construction sites. All employees and visitors on our sites will be required to practice social distancing and use PPE at all times.

Employee Health Protection – ZERO Tolerance

Key Construction has a zero-tolerance policy for sick employees reporting to work. Prior to the start of their shift and upon entry into the building, all employees and visitors are required to sign a form agreeing:

  • they are not experiencing any flu-like symptoms
  • they have not had “close contact” with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19
  • they have not been asked to quarantine

This list also provides our supervisor with a list of persons for contact tracing should an outbreak occur. All employees and visitors that are exhibiting symptoms or that are unable to self-certify will be directed to leave the worksite and seek medical attention and applicable testing by their health care provider. They are not to return unless cleared by a medical professional.

Key Construction will take immediate steps to limit infections at the job site in the event that an employee is discovered to have tested positive for COVID-19 or has COVID-19 related symptoms. Working alongside the board of health, we will identify and notify any persons who may have been in close contact with the individual, along with deep cleaning common work areas, tools, and equipment. The immediate identification and isolation of potentially infected individuals are critical in protecting our employees, visitors, and vendors.

In ALL cases the employee’s name will remain confidential by law. Employees may be sent home for the day for cleaning purposes but will return to work the following day unless advised otherwise by a health care professional. All employees will be reminded to maintain a social distance, practice proper sanitization, and monitor for flu-like symptoms.

We are committed to doing what is best for the well-being of our employees and clients. We seek to ensure the safety of our employees, and you can continue to count on our exceptional service, uninterrupted.
